Outreach
The Institute has three major outreach programs within the third district of Janiuay, Iloilo.
First Outreach Project: Mothers Weaving Project
The Institute has extended a small capital to mothers of students to engage in the local weaving production of “Patadyong” a skirt worn by women in rural communities. The group of mothers were able to send their other children to tertiary schools in nearby communities as a result of the regular income generated by weaving.

Second Outreach Project: Backyard Livestock and Vegetable Production
The
Institute maintains its own backyard livestock such as swine, goats,
chicken, ducks and vegetables as its source of food for staff and
students. The Institute is the only school which enable student to
pay their contribution in kind such as rice, livestock, vegetables
and fruits instead of putting pressure on students to produce money.
This resulted in a ZERO-dropout rate among students.
Third Outreach Project: Reconstructive Surgery of Harelip and Cleft Palate Children and Youth
The Institute has made tie-ups with local hospitals and surgeons to offer free services of reconstructive surgery for children and youth who are harelip or cleft palated. The Institute raises amounts from friends through donations or sponsorship to cover the cost of laboratories and medicines for each operation. At present there are 122 children waiting for sponsors at a cost of $320.00 per child. If you are interested in being a sponsor, please contact the administrator@idssphilippines.org
